Dantokpa in Fongbe language or Fon, means on the edge of the Dan
lagoon. Dan, is a divinity of prosperity.
The market, the most important market of the West of Africa during that time, is in the center of
Cotonou in Benin near the lagoon and the Nokoué lake.
"DANTOKPA" narrates the market in 1987 and my first filming experience : to see and to be seen.
